I nudged olí Dash into a lope,
Collected him and circled around,
We lined up on this big old log,
Laying there upon the ground.
The roan colt loves to jump,
His ears are up,
He adjusts his stride,
Takes to the air,
And with a jubilant kick,
Lights on the other side.
It may seem a far cry, from the Olympics,
To jumping logs in the bush for fun.
But the connection with our horses,
Serves to bind us all as one.
Congratulations to Ian Millar and the Canadian Equestrian Team on their Olympic Medals.
