Adios Farmers
Mike's Meadow Muffin for July 19, 2004 Adios Farmers They're baling hay down in the valley heat waves blur the distant view, The cattle are in the high country, But I've got one more chore to do. The sweat runs in my eyes, smears my glasses, I can't hardly see a thing, Horse flies buzzing all around me, and their bite can kind of sting. By the time the sun sets in the west, My horse's shoes will be reset. I'll take a swim to wash away the dust, fatigue and sweat. By day break I'll be in the hills, Where the morning air is cool, Leave the dust, heat and diesel smoke, For some other fool. Mike Puhallo
