"Prit Near" Ready For Winter

The cows are out on winter range,

the calves have gone to town,

The "around home" list of late fall chores,

is finally getting whittled down.

I rewired the heater on the stock tank,

the one by the barn in the horse corral,

I replaced the hose that broke 'cause it froze

when that heater didn't work to well.

I pulled the last of the carrots ,

put all the garden tools away,

I rescued my winter tires from the hayloft,

it snowed a bit today.
