Commuting by Caballo

My commute to work on weekdays,

Is about twenty minutes, at a trot.

A little less, when I ride the roan,

Because of the longer stride he’s got.

Spring time, riding for the neighbours,

who range right behind my place,

keeps my ponies fit and trim,

and paints a big smile on my face.

The wages aint no big deal.

But it’s good for my horses, don’t you see,

And them price gouging highway robbers,

Aint getting rich off me!

PS: On the other hand, I have poetry performances in Alberta prit near every weekend this month, so I do have to burn some gas on weekends. MP
