Folks from far and wide are gathering,

to our corner of the West.

In time for the twelfth edition,

of the Kamloops Cowboy Fest.

A reporter asked me yesterday,

“Just what is it all about?

What makes Cowboy poets tick?

What’s behind the rhymes they spout? “

To tell the truth, I’m often puzzled,

by questions such as those.

So I replied as best I could,

“... Just crazy, I suppose.”
